OT: any of you running FTP server on NT4? What software?

I have a new potential client that would be happier if I were running an FTP server. Most hosting clients frankly don't pay enough to make this additional service worth the trouble, however this one would. I have three other methods available to all my customers for file management and these have worked fine for them for 7 years of running this hosting business.
I like to say that I was here before the dot com frenzy, during the dot com craziness and I'm still here after the dot com crash 😉

Does anyone know of an NT server ftp package that is easy to use, easy to maintain, secure and doesn't cost too much? Thanks.

I use Gene6 ftp server on win2k pro(NT4 will work though too). Gene6 no longer exsists as G6 but is now called bpftpserver. Go to BulletProof FTP Server It is really easy to set up and maintain. I've been running it for a year now and have had no problems. I used to use some other server apps but I like this one the best.

my $.02

BTW - it is only $30.00 too plus you can use the fully functional 30 trial before you must purchase 😀

I was running and FTP server called FTPServU on an NT4 backup domain controller a while back. It worked fine and I remember it was pretty easy to setup. We only used it to transfer 1 file daily but it worked fine for that.

Edit: I don't remember the exact cost but I do know it wasn't very expensive.

Thanks guys, I will look into those - except Warftp - I really don't like the tone of their "help" files & "FAQs"

I would highly recommend Serv-U FTP server (Link here). I use it to run an FTP server I have at home. This server receives daily backup files from work. Serv-U is resumable, easy to manage, and pretty inexpensive. Worth checking out IMHO.
