Max Kellerman seems to think Mosley won. Had it 8-4 Mosley. Said it was a drawish fight.....rounds were very close and tough to score. He said most people on TV thought Oscar won, while most people in attendance thought Mosley won. All judges had it 116-114

Interesting to note, Kellerman and Brian both said that they'd never seen Oscar as hurt/injured as he was in this fight. Mosley's body shots were very effective.

Can't wait to see this fight on HBO.

i think it's so hypocritical for Max Kellerman to have agreed with the scoring

i mean, even he said that so many rounds were almost DRAW Close. And he's the one that always says you have to TAKE the title away, you can't just win by a nose. I think it was crap. I saw the whole fight. Neither fighter dominated, but BULLLSHHHHHH if shane won 115-113, that's preposterous. a DRAW, MAYBE, but that much of a win is absurd

Look, boxing should not be decided by who is the stronger puncher or who threw stronger punches. It should be decided by whoever BOXED the best. Plain and Simple Oscar outboxed the hell out of Mosley. No doubt about it. First 7 rounds he was the technically superior fighter. He did lose some luster towards the end, but not enough to warrant a unanimous win for Mosley.

Another thing which should make you question this fight is the reaction of Mosley when it was announced that he won. It was utter SHOCK, not the look of someone who thought they had one the fight. Also, the comments from his own FATHER, who was telling him to try and knock him out. You don't tell a fighter who you think is winning to try and knock the opponent out in the last few rounds. If his dad really thought he was winning he would have told him to play more conservatively. This is yet another one of boxing's ridiculous, horrendous, outrageous, and absolutely pathetic scandals. Dont believe what you read about this fight, if you had watched all 12 rounds there is only one real winner here. Hoya all the way, it's sad to see him lose this, he really should have won this one and retired peacefully. Now he will prob. fight a rematch against Mosley.

i mean, c'mon, if you wanna say hoya quit at the end, fine, at LEAST call it a draw. But a UNIANIMOUS 115-113 is absolute robbery!

what can i say? as mentioned earlier, oscar got cheated. i watched it, and it looks like the fact that oscar spilled blood on a accidental head butt and mosley came out strong in the last 3-4 rounds was the deciding factor. we saw the compubox numbers, and we saw mosley stand there and take punches for 8-9 rounds, throwing at most, 50 punches in a round, if lucky. and yet, he gets the unanimous decision. the protest will fall on deaf ears, but oh well, welcome to the world of boxing.

i just hope this doesnt stop oscar from boxing. a lot of people dont like him, but gotta give the man credit, he outboxed his opponent, the fight was clearly in his favor, yet he got cheated. he changed his style up, he resorted more to jabs than his regular heavy right hand tactics, he was more cautious and had a better stance and balance, and fought a good fight. 3 judges and a handful of sportswriters didnt see it that way. its a shame...

I watched earlier on DTV. It's clearly Oscar won. The score board showed 115-113 in favor of oscar. I thought thats the judges #. Isnt it? When Monsley was asked if he was surprise by the victory, he said he wasnt. C'mon the last 3-4 round seems like he was fighting to win by KO cuz he knows he was down in scoring.

Strangely enough, during an earlier Sportscenter, ESPN scored it 49-46 in favor of Mosley through 5 rounds?

yep. even his own corner was telling him he needed a knockout. all of a sudden "i won, if anything, it should've been a draw!". pfffffffffttttttt.

From a Dish Network employee: fvck every one of you that watched this fight
Why did you have to wait until 3 minutes before the fight started to call in and let us know that your system was messed up, and had been for the last 3 months... If it was then WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US BEFOREHAND???

I took so much abuse tonight from people that were pissed because they had 15+ people over to watch the fight on their big screen (probably 13") TV and they waited until the fight started to call us and "inform" us that they hadn't been getting a signal for months and they were suprised that we didn't know that their equipment was malfunctioning and fix it for this one PPV event. I hate everyone tonight.

Exactly, Power should ONLY be a factor if there is a KNOCKDOWN. from what i've read there were NO KNOCKDOWNS.

If there are NO KNOCKDOWNS, than this whole power thing is BS. so what if shane hit a bit harder than Oscar did? in the end, neither scored a knockdown, so it should have been decided on skill and not power.

THIS FIGHT WAS SUCH CRAP. I am SOOO mad. The announcers, and EVERYONE in my gym gave the match to Oscar. I thought only about 5 rounds went to Mosley at most and he wins unanimously by 2 points? What the hell? Oscar should get this win so he can retire on top. This is one of the biggest disappointments I've seen. I am surprised Oscar gave a thumbs up, he must've not seen that he was the real winner.

edit: Mosley had tears in his eyes after the fight, he KNEW he lost. And yeah I saw/heard mosley trying to get a knockout and Oscar was playing defensive/careful the last rounds 'cause he knew he was up on points... guess not

two english commentators gave it 118-112 and 117-113. I though de la hoya walked it by at least 3 rounds, unfortunately most american judges like to see an attacking style ignoring the skill of the sport :frown:

I thought George Forman was going to start throwing punches lol.. he was pissed at the results, as it seemed like everyone else was except the judges. Mosley knew he didn't win the fight, in the comments at the end all he kept saying is that Oscar is a good figther, he didn't say anything about the decision

This was disgusting to me and my friends watching the fight. That fight was proof that boxing is rigged, and George Foreman looked as pissed as we were about the decision.
And when that annoying interviewer guy was denying any controversy George verbally tore into him, and it was beautiful. Told him he doesn't know anything and he has no credibility because no matter how many fights he's watched he's never boxed. Its the truth though... Why do they have people who weren't boxers commenting on boxing? especially that shriveled old man who fumbles his interviews like an amatuer. And shouldn't the judges be ex-boxers to an extent? I was hoping Foreman would just go crazy like the hulk and pummel the old announcer.

De La Hoya definately won, IMO... but then again, he was almost all jab. Mosely was much less active, but he was getting in more power shots...

But yeah, De La Hoya got robbed.

Okay...Just saw the replay on HBO and, yeah, Mosley deserved it.

Oscar faded in the last few rounds. Shane came on more aggressively and while Oscar landed more punches, Shane rang Oscar's bell a couple of times and Oscar started holding more after the big shots. I think that cost Oscar the fight. He should have kept in there...kept battling.

And... to my Cards! 3-0! :D
