Knockout?? decision?? WTF?

Decision

HOW?? ESPN clearly had Oscar winning EVERY round but 2, WHICH fight did the judges watch?

Even Shane seemed surprised when he found out he won, something's fishy. :Q

Shane should be the man and admit he lost that fight. the description that ESPN had showed oscar winning 9 of 11 rounds.

I concur, however there were a few rounds that could've gone either way (obviously judges thought Shane won those) but still.

Shane had no clue he won the match, did you see the look on his face when he won. That was Shock!! not a confident pose of a winner.

I don't know why i take an interest in boxing. It's OBVIOUS the sport is fixed. this has GOT to be the worst sport.

This totally sucks for Hoya ... too bad he won't get anything overturn with his protest ... funny how they said the sport writers agreed with the judges.

HORRIBLE! Hoya won that fight fair and square. I wish boxers would just go on strike and throw out all these corrupt judges and the fscking corrupt officials. This is absolutely pathetic.

Shane Mosley scored a stunning unanimous decision over Oscar De La Hoya on Saturday night, even though ESPN.com and other analysts had De La Hoya dominating the bout. Mosley earned the super welterweight title with the win.

hmmm, doesn't sound to me like ESPN.COM agreed with the decision.

not even the commentators...

i just saw the match...de la hoya was more tactical and seemed weaker of the two.....but it was obvious he landed most of the punches and stuff....while mosley threw very few, but the ones that did land was crazy..knocking back la hoya a couple times.....obviously mosley being the stronger fighter, although it seemed clear, at least to me, oscar was more skilled....

first 5 rounds IMHO was a toss up..it could have gone either way....well, i thought oscar had all of the first 5-7 rounds with mosley throwing hard punches here and there, but obviously you can tell oscar threw more light punches (looked more like touches than punches to me though imo)....

but the last couple rounds, it was all mosley for sure...

another thing to think about:
HBO and oscar de la hoya are under contract....all the commentators were obviously on oscar's side...saying how he obviously won and what not...

did you see george foreman bash howard insulting him saying how the decision was some sort of controversy?....that was the highlight of the $50 night :(
hehehe oh wells..

such as the unpredictable nature of sports :)

btw, i thought the fight was boring :(

lol no the biggest BS was the a tie decision btwn holyfield and lewis 1.....lewis MANHANDLED holyfield...

in this one, the judges went for more power, and the power came from mosley..that was obvious..although in my eyes oscar easily could have had the fight, ...you can tell by the amount of power punches landed (unlike the "touches" oscar landed) mosley had the advantage...

in my view, the match was a total toss up...it easily could have gone either way....

but the last 3-4 rounds, it was all mosley for sure....

i've seen a ton of ppv boxing and one actual boxing match (i was there @ the MGM grand during holyfield vs tyson 1...that was probably the best boxing match i've ever seen in my life.....of course i was rooting for holyfield who was the underdog before the bout started)
this match was just plain uneventful and totally NOT a crowd pleaser as dumb Costas tried to say it was a crowd pleaser....errr..no i was bored ....the match sucked..and niether fighter was too willing to really "win" the match...no real aggression, nothing....they seemed to love each other too much or something...too soft....they shoulda done something so they hate each other...just like the vargas vs de la hoya match..NOW THAT WAS A GOOD MATCH...

Lots of these rounds were a toss up, even though I'm a Mosley fan I would say Oscar won it.

But I think Mosley did more damage than Oscar did. I also think Lederman and Foreman's comments made many people think differently.
