osa not responding

When I click the "open office document" icon on the office 97 shortcut bar and then clicked on an either an Excel or word file, nothing happens. I would do a control+alt+DEL buttons to check the "task manager" and it has a program item name "OSA" and next to it is an error [not responding] . I've tried reloading my Office 97 suite, but still I can't get the open document options to work. Has anyone ever experienced this problem???
