OS won't boot after install!!!!

I installed xp pro and it wopuldnt boot after the install. It hangs at the verifying dmi pool data screen. Win 98 would load then give a fatal exception error. I've tried alot of OS's and it doesnt help.

700 Mhz Celeron
Asus Mobo
10.2 gb Fireball AT
Cd-Rom

Memtest would be the first diagnostic I used. Grab a copy and test your RAM. Bad RAM can cause instability, can prevent bootings or cause errors. Failing that, try testing another stick of RAM. Or, if you have 2 sticks in your PC try removing one and see if that fixes the problem. If not, try the other stick.

Sounds like a memory issue to me. Do you have an extra stick to test? Or if you have two sticks, try it with one at a time.
