OS problems

I just built a new computer, maybe about a month ago, with the following components:

AMD 1200Mhz Thunderbird
Asus A7V133
Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 64MB
Soundblaster Live Value
Lite-On 12x10x32 CD-RW
IBM Deskstar 75GPX 60GB
2x Micron PC133 256MB SDRAM

I had installed Windows ME and all was running smooth. Until one day, I start getting loads of errors. It comes to the point where I cannot boot. I try to reinstall ME. Nope, still got the errors. I formatted the harddrive and installed ME. Lesser amounts of errors, but still more than usual.

Windows 98 also has more errors than expected.

I also tried to install Redhat 7.1 and Mandrake 8 and neither would install. MS-DOS 6.22 installs and so does Windows 95 error free (but I did not use them for extended periods of time).

Please help!!!

Thanks,

-Dan (antirap@hushmail.com).

Strip the board down to 1 peice of RAM, CPU and video. Install windows and see if there are any errors... if not, add hardware peice by peice until you find the problem. if you get errors when you install windows, use a different peice of ram. then swap out your video card. also, how hot is your CPU running???? you did use thermal paste right?
