I may not have asked my last question correctly. I am presently running two PCs both on 98SE, and connected to Linsky Fast Ethernet. I am presently building a new rig. When I replace one of these PCs with the new one, can I install Windows ME or whatever and still run the other PC on Windows 98SE? That is and not have trouble with the fast ethernet?

Yeah, you can install WindowsME on it and still run your network, you shouldn't have any problems. I've done the same with my Linksys Fast Ethernet network.

Yes not problem at all as long as they are running the same protocol. I would think TCP/IP would be running on your current network.

Win ME actually makes things easier on setting up a network, when it runs right. If you set up your protocols and everything else right (not trying to scare you or something. Shouldn't be much different than in 98), windows ME should actually recognize all shared devices for you. Makes it really nice.

I plugged a laptop running win ME into the network at the company after installing the TCP/IP and assigning it an IP address. Like I said above it recognized everything there in the workgroup. Nice. Had problems with stability that ticked me off later, but the concept was nice.
