OS CD Question

I have Windows XP on a bootable cd. But i think i saw that it is an .exe, is it still going to install on my HDD, or does it have to be .iso

The cd you get from Microsoft (through a retailer or whatever) is in neither a .exe or .iso format.

if i screw up installing it, is there a way to redo it. Would I have to format my harddrive or something.

If you mess up while installing it, formatting shouldn't be tough. It's not like you'll lose something. 😛

Boot from the cd. There are options to format during the install.
