Overstock.com has this for $81.27 with the $20 off $60 coupon for new customers and free shipping that they're offering til 2/22 you can get it down to $61.27. This was mentioned in a previous thread in Hot Deals.

From the Overstock site "This card is packaged in a non-retail box with driver and menu download instructions." So it's not in a retail box.
 
Heh... If you buy from Overstock, you'll get the card from Justdeals if you want to or not. Justdeals is Overstock's fulfillment house.

Go to ubid, they are auctioning a bunch of HP wifi cards. The cards are rebadged lucent silver. I got 2@45 each. Shipping is as ridiculous as just deals (maybe more so), $18 for the 2 cards. The benefit is that ubid is reputable, at least more so than justdeals IMO. Xp recognize the cards without asking for drivers. I also updated the drivers and firmware with those from Agere's site without a hitch. Now if only my WAP would come.
 
I got one of these cards and had a d-link and the range is amazing. Every place I had a weak signal before gives me a strong reception now.
 
I bought one from outpost with the 20 off 60. they sent me the gold card instead... good deal i suppose, but the card doesnt stack up as well against the usb d-link one i have . dont have another pc card to compare it to.

I received mine from overstock on 2/20/02 and it was in a retail box. For the XP drivers, you still need to download off the web site however. I am using it with a Linksys BEFW11S4 and it works great.
 
Does anybody have any problems connecting DLink hardware with Orinoco stuff?

I specifically can't get a Dlink DWL-650 to connect to my Orinoco RG-1000 w/ 128bit WEP.
 
I use the USB Orinoco and have a Dlink card and sometimes have trouble from Orinoco. My Dlink puts out an increibly strong signal that Orinoco recognizes as excellent. The Orinoco signal is never excellent, and often marginal.

The RG-1000 only supports 64bit WEB, that's why you can't connect to it with 128WEB.

The RB-1000 actually has an Orinoco Silver pcmcia card inside it, the RG-1100 has a Gold card it in.
 
Interesting ... I just called Lucent up (now agere or whatever it is called) to get my old old old Lucent Silver card fixed.

They said it has a 3 year warranty. I almost wonder if these cards have a 3 year warranty too. Maybe they are refurb? Used?

Funny part was, the card stopped working last week. I called them, they said to install the latest drivers. I thought "go figure, might as well try it" and sonofagun, it worked! Upgraded the card firmware and it works under Linux again too.

 
if you want orinoco GOLD, you can get them at gateway accessory for about $73 each.
the catch is you have to buy 3 and use the 50 off 199 coupon (if it's still there) to qualify for free shipping.
 
For what it's worth Dell sells rebaged Orinoco called TRUEMOBILE

The 1100 model is a rebadge CISCO chipset....equivalent to the SILVER - 64bit encrypt

the 1150 model is a rebaged Lucent (good) chipset....equivalent to the GOLD - 128bit encrypt.

as will all rebaged items, you can use the manufacturers drivers (dell in this case), or the drivers from other sources.

Also, the 1150's are selling on ebay for like $40+ship....search for Truemobile

Just order 2 silvers from JustDeals on Thursday. They shipped Friday. Today they are no longer listed at JustDeals site so they probably ran out. They only had 6 in inventory when I ordered.
