I currently have the Orinoco 11b Gold card and I couldn't be happier with it. However, I am planning on upgrading my routers to 11g soon and I would like to get a new card for my laptop. Does anyone have any experience with the Orinoco b/g card? I know that the Orinoco 11b is a well regarded card but I don't know if the b/g is similiarly well made. Any tips? Thanks.

The people who design the original Orinoco are out of the picture long time ago.

The Orinoco Name Barnd change three or more hands in the last few years. As concern entry level hardware, it is just a name. The Pro staff is very good.

My post above was made in a Hurry, so let recap.

I can understand the motives of Business to get one Standard and Good choice. In the business envioroment Spending more for Hardware is consider good investment since the cycle of using the Hardware is longer.

For the Price of One Proxim 802.11g (about $100). You can get a Super G Bundle (Wireless Super G Router and a Matching PCMCIA Card).

With in the working parameter Super G performs better then regular G.

Thanks for the responses. I actually currently own a Proxim Orinoco PCMCIA card but it gets noticbly better range than my fiancee's D-Link card. I've found the Proxim b/g card for about $70 and while it would certainly cost me more than just getting a SuperG bundle, if the performance of the Proxim b/g is similarly better than the D-Link b/g, then the extra price is worth it to me.

Make sense.
Please let us know the actual performance when you get it.

Is that "make sense" or "makes sense"? Thanks.

Makes Sense, as in Good Idea.
