Fye has 7$ rebates on each of the just released star wars dvd's. I think this is in store as well so I will be picking up my copies after work today.
Episode IV
Episode V
Episode VI
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I have been waiting for these for years...these are limited time only, they are only going to sell them for a couple months I believe.

Edit: This is hot depending on whether or not you dislike george lucas' revisionist movie-making - and how you feel about the fact that these are non-anamorphic widescreen.

They're also DD 2.0 and not 5.1. Thanks OP for the deal, but I can't support Lucas' greed. I'm guessing there's going to be a box set of all 6 movies for the 30th anniversary next year.

Heh, I would wait for the 6 dvd box set, but these are the originial un-edited versions. Also, I won't be a 6 dvd set when I hate half the set (can you guess which half?)

The original unedited versions are the only good ones. What is wrong with you guys? I will take DD 2.0 if Han shoots first any day.

But wait...a computer animated Jaba that looks awful and is completely out of place? Tempting, but I'll pass! Screw you lucas for ever changing them.

I suppose you guys would like to watch the Anniversary edition of ET where all the guns are changed into walkie-talkies.

I suppose you don't have a large widescreen tv then? Non-anamorphic means a CRAPPY picture when played back on a widescreen tv. This is nothing but a big slap in the face.

As for the ET thing, that change was completely incidental to the story. and doesn't really take anything away. In a way, it makes it more realistic anyway. If the Feds really had guns, wouldn't THAT be the time to use them? I mean, the kids were FLYING for crying out loud. 😉

Disc 1 (the enhanced editions) have the WS and 5.1 tags.

The original version is on disc two, which is described as:

Disc 2: Original theatrical (1977) version
of Star Wars * Lego Star Wars II video game Xbox demo and trailer 4:3 letterbox format (aspect ratio 2.35:1) * Sound: English Dolby 2.0

The question for me is, is this better or worse than the DVD's I burned from the LaserDisc copies of the original version?

Slightly better but not much. Not worth the money IMHO.

Just so you know these include the special editions as well . Its a 2 disc set. The Original theatrical versions are on the second disc. Its a worth while purchase if you don't have them on DVD yet. I wish they were just the theatrical versions I would purchase them, but to have two sets of the special editions on dvd is too much for me.

Also these are the Original Theatrical versions from 1977, 1980, 1983. For a New hope, it doesn't even show "A New Hope" in the scroll.
