The Golf Warehouse -www.tgw.com- where I work has a job opening for a Web Graphics designer with experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and knowledge of HTML. Example of work required, wages based on experience.

I know not many of the users of these forums live in this area, but I thought that any of you looking for a job might be open to this info, with unemployment so high.

Anyway- Drop me an email at jcmarney@tgw.com if you want more info, or PM me.

Thanks.

So here I am in Atlanta (why did I leave San Diego), just out of the Marine Corps where I was an IT manager/programmer/Dbase admin/LAN manager for four years...I have my BS in Mgmt/CIS (Magna Cum Laude) & what am I doing?

I am back in insurance (which I used to do before the USMC) as a property adjuster...IT IS SO DEAD IN ATL...Stay away if you can!

I am really saddened to see so many of us here in Atlanta not finding anything. I searched for a couple of months for an IT job & finally gave up & went back to insurance. Now that I am "gainfully" employed again, I am starting my search for my "dream" IT job...:D

It is so much easier to find a good job when you already have a job that pays well. At least I don't have to worry about my UI running out and not being able to pay bills. I really feel for you guys out there that are having a hard time. I only pray that 2003 holds a brighter future for us all! :D

If anyone is interested in discussing my qualifications, PM me...

Congratulations on your Graduation Henry. Best wishes in your search and the New Year.
On the re-location, I don't think it would be advisable to even think about Atlanta.

Hmm, well in this company that I am at it would be impossible. They won't hire an adjuster for example without experience. You can try progressive, they are always hiring auto adjusters. All you need are some customer service skills & a 4 year degree. Auto adjusting is stressful but you can make about 35k to begin (entry level). Good luck!!

Good thread here.

I'm finishing up a BS in Computer Science. I graduate in May. Currently looking for part-time/intern work that could possibly turn full-time after I graduate. Position should involve working with a networked environment in some way. Also have A+, Network+, and CCNA. No "real world" experience, but plenty of hands-on experience in my extensive home lab. Very enthusiastic. Resume available by request.

I'm located in northern Indiana. Would love to work part-time/intern for FREE if job is right. Even if you don't have a job offer, PLEASE contact me if you have connections in the area.

Thanks guys - best of luck to you all :)

Check it out and see if there is a position for you.

Things in Canada are bad right now.... just not many positions to be found.... other than super-high-end ones that'll take me ANOTHER two years of education just to be able to persue! I just need a nice, entry-level networking job to get some experience! You'd think a Cisco CCNA would be worth something... :( *sigh*

I would NOT recommend going to school for "computers" unless it's for at least a 4-year university degree. You probably won't find employment with anything less. At least as far as I'm finding.
