Even with hte new ZIF (non BLW) connectors, I can jiggle the cart out (side to side). Not sure if it's healthy for the connectors though, but it works every time.

With BLW - do you still have any issues powering clean games up or does it mainly just work?

Edit: I read a few reviews and it's much more reliable. That makes me feel better, based on expectations. I think everyone who owns an NES-001 needs to level set their expectations for connector issues. With a BLW mod I think we will have the best of it all, although I really just want to play the games using original hardware for the most part - the experience is about the game not the system having trouble playing it lol.

Thanks!

That is a pretty decent group for an addition. Of them, I think the only one I don't remember playing much of is Chip n Dale.

I started writing my post before you posted this. It looks like you might have been interested in at least a couple of my dupes. :( Ah well.

...and my 3 BLW units have not arrived. Their site says my order was on 12/1. I know it was just 2-3 days later when I logged-in and saw "in-stock" on their site and "complete" as my order status. No tracking since I went with basic parcel shipping, but I really think it should have arrived by now. Perhaps shipping delays due to holiday rush. I will contact them.

Let me know how that goes. Did you see the "all orders are back ordered 6-8 weeks until kickstarter shipments are fulfilled" message underneath in stock, when you ordered too?

I saw a "6-8 weeks" message. I figured they were giving themselves a good buffer in case anything goes wrong. If it really is in a courrier's possession already, I would not expect it to take very long to arrive.

That's true.

On ebay, they always print the USPS label now and ebay marks the item as "shipped" even though it's not with the courier. That has been a little annoying, but in your case if they did print the label, I'd imagine they have some stock for it.

At some point, I will try and finish up my collection. There are only a couple more games that I really want, but they tend to go pretty high (i.e. Metal Storm, which will typically run $120 or more now even though it just isn't that rare).

I really want to display the games in an appropriate manner, if possible. No idea what that is yet. I see a lot of people put them in VHS plastic boxes with printed labels?

Condition varies by title so I'll get some pics. I acquired most about 14 years ago and haven't cleaned or tested them but I certainly will. In general I keep the cleaner or more complete copy but they're usually comparable. IIRC, my extra/dupe of Blades of Steel has a peeling label so I considered making a working Ducktales 2 replica out of it.

A lot of people use Universal Game Cases from MediaShelving.com and fit them with custom inserts printed from thecoverproject.net. You have to modify those cases to fit NES games though (not quite "universal"). There are other alternatives, like customgamecases.com and BitBox from StoneAgeGamer.com. People usually use the same Cover Project covers.

I'm hoping NinTandBox.net gets more American boxes scanned, retouched, and prepared to print with a template so I can just make paper card-stock replica boxes for most of my games. I don't know a thing about GIMP or Photoshop but I guess I should at least contribute some scans of my own before complaining about how few USA boxes, manuals, and labels they have.

I ordered 50 bitbox NES Game cases. I will have my sister print out the covers when she's visiting for Christmas vacation (lol) and help me cut them to the games.

StoneAgeGamer is only 90 minutes away from me, so I went with them. Now to find shelving!

Hahaha... good luck on the shelving. I gave up trying to find something and went the rubbermaid tub route. Pretty much need to custom make it if you want something decent.

I'll rig something up over Christmas! I probably won't end up with more than 50 games, I'm probably halfway there. I wonder how many "good" NES games we all thought existed? It likely supercedes the amount of good Wii-U games.

Some of the NES games have really horrible graphics, obviously not judging on that but yikes, atari-esque.

On the other end of the spectrum, some of the stages in Battletoads are amazing. Kirby's Adventure has some pretty epic boss fights.

Kirby is probably the most graphically amazing NES game. The things they managed to do was pretty amazing for that system.

As for how many "good" NES games that exist, I would most definitely say there are more than will ever be released on the Wii-U.

I mean seriously "good" Wii-U games:
Mario Maker
Mario Kart 8
Smash Bro's.... (I'm trying to think of more, but, they just aren't there....)

"Good" NES games (even to this day):
Contra
Super C
Bionic Commando
Kirby
Super Mario 1 - 3
Megaman 1 - 3
Castlevania 1 + 3
Legend of Zelda 1+2
Mike Tyson's Punchout
...... I could keep on going, but we are already at more games than Nintendo will release on the Wii-U before they end of life it...

Here is my communication with the BLW makers, ArcadeWorks.

"Sorry Ruben, there is a lot of people waiting for these. We are just starting to ship orders that were placed this summer. If you need to cancel the order we understand, since this was for Christmas gifts. There is just no way to shuffle the order of shipping right now."
10:47 PM (0 minutes ago)

to Arcadeworks
"That's kind of incredible, you must have extremely high demand.

If you find anyone who will let me buy their original versions off them for $100 a piece, let me know. There has to be some previous customer that would take that! Any other 72pin is complete junk, I feel like I wasted $800 on the 2 hi-def NES without a BLW mod in it. I didn't know the other new NES connectors were that bad. The NES modders are giving false advertising, lol.

I don't understand why you're taking my money and shipping way later, this isn't a kickstarter I'm buying. I think you should put "back ordered 8 weeks" on your site instead of "in stock, shipping in 8 weeks".
____________________________________________________________

It's like they're saying I'm "allowed" to cancel my order with their original email! Are you kidding me? What are they doing, taking our money and investing it? How many people are they back ordered that they can't make this chip quicker? It looks simple. Something seems fishy.

It's a little bit irking that their e-commerce system says the status of my order is "complete". Complete usually means it's been shipped and/or delivered. Complete to them means they have my money.

They said they are 1000 orders behind.

On 12/7, I saw that my order of 3 Blinking Light Win units was "complete" according to the order status on your web site. Does that mean it was already in the mail?

If so, it has been in-transit for 10 days. I chose the basic "parcel" shipping, so I don't know if that's normal. Just thought I'd find out if "complete" meant it was actually in the mail at that point.

Thu, Dec 17, 2015 at 9:39 PM, Arcade Works replied:
No. It means you completed the ordering process. You will get an email when it ships with tracking.

Pretty stupid site if it shows no indication whatsoever that anything at all is still pending. I don't see how that can be interpreted any other way. It's misleading.

Same with the "In Stock" status on their site when they don't actually have units on-hand or ready to ship. That's misleading.

Yes, and although they are responsive, they had the guts to say it would be OK if I wanted to cancel. Hmm.

They said they are 1000 orders behind right now. Their business practice is poor.

I don't really know of any other site that isn't kickstarter that takes your money way ahead of time. The stock should say "pre-order". I know it did at some point. I think this company is going to get sued, and too bad, because they have a good product but very bad practice/organization. $25,000 is not that much money anyway but I'm guessing they blew threw it if they're taking this long to make the product. I would be up day and night trying to fullfill my customers' orders if I had a product this hot, they're just ruining it.

Well, it was a Kickstarter project at first, but the product is released and the website should be configured to better represent the order status and availability. Pebble had similar difficulties.

I think that they are taking orders they can't fill so that they can gauge demand and order the right number of units from their manufacturing partners.

Complete means the transaction is complete. We took your money, we shipped your order, boom

Otherwise, it should show "processed, pending shipment" or something like that. Screw those guys.

Also, sort of odd (or very odd) to offer "overnight shipping" for a premium price when the item has a handling delay of 2 months, lol. OK, I'm cancelling my order with them and looking harder to find it used!

I probably don't even have the option to cancel an order that's already showing "complete!"
