Original Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad - $11.95 shipped

i thought most mobo's still have built in gameports ?? i have this gamepad throughout my college career, 4 years and it's still working! it's the best one out there .!

I remember paying 25 at microcenter for this years ago. Great gamepad, i use it all the time for tony hawk 3 and high heat 2003

I don't believe most mobo's have gameports unless they have on board sound. Anyway, I prefer USB for it's easy PNP with Win XP.
Anyone know if this model comes in USB flavor?

Yes, this does come in USB. They had these a while back at CUSA for $9.99, that's where I picked up mine. They go on sale every once in a while, best gamepad around IMO (a lot better than that XBox crud).

i have 8 of these. lol. 🙂 4 in use, 4 in storage for future use.

got 2 free after mail in rebate from compusa from years ago, and 6 from compgeeks for $5+ shipping each. love the daisy chaining. 😀

wow thx...I have two already but may get two more to keep as backup over the coming years! This gamepad was THE BEST and still IS the best. Microsoft's other gamepads uses different D-PAD which is terrible. And using a USB port for a gamepad is a waste! This gamepad has built-in connectors in each one, so you can daisy chain up to 4 of them together! This was genius in design and no one has ever bested this design!

Two Thumbs Up for Original Microsoft Gamepad!!! (Non-USB)

P.S. If your computer has sound capability either on-board or soundcard, you have a gameport. This will always be...

does this work with 2k ?
I have mine but don't have an idea what game I should get for this gamepad

any suggestion ?

"Anyway, I prefer USB for it's easy PNP with Win XP."

No need. The gameport version is PNP with Windows XP. Just plug the thing in and Windows will see it and set it up automatically. Trust me, I have four of them. 🙂

Yup, this gamepad rules. I have this one, the MS freestyle (with the motion-sensor-thingy), and their newer USB gamepad (the silver one, with the proportional d-pad), and I still use this one the most. I actually gave the usb one to my sister to use. I thought I'd like the proprtional d-pad better, since it would give me more control, but I actually found myself pressing the d-pad harder when playing games (to make sure I was really going "100%" in that direction).

This gamepad still rocks. (although that $7 shipping charge sucks)

these still appear to be onsale! 😉 I'm going to wallywerld to see if they have that Logitech Wingman on sale ferst...and if they do, then I'll have it...otherwise, I think that I'll grab up two of these! 😉

2 - $18.90
3 - $25.85
4 - $30.80

the savings is in the FOURTH controller that U buy! 😉 hehehehe

*tries to imagine a game that would support four controllers on his PC* 😕

Games that support 4 controllers are usually sports games. I know the EA Fifa series have been supporting 4 controllers for a while now. 4 player soccer on one monitor is just crazy fun. 🙂
