Original Ironman Book

So the fact that the movie has come out has driven my ass to try and find this book I had when I was younger about the origins of Ironman. If I remember correctly, it was pretty much exactly what the movie encompassed in terms of breadth of time and plot. I have looked on Amazon before with little luck.

Its full length (like 200 pages or so, maybe more but probly not less). I remember the cover definitely had Ironman on it, but that's about it. Had to have been copyrighted before about 1995 for sure, since I remember reading it when I was ten or eleven. Any links to hard-to-find book sites, or does anyone else have this book?

Thanks in advance

Your wiki-fu is weak. I. am. Iron. Man!

Tales of Suspense #39 (March 1963) has probably been reprinted in many collections since then. I know there was a Marvel Origins collection I had as a kid that included it along with the origin issues of Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, The Hulk, etc.

Been there, but I have trouble believing that bib is complete. I've searched through all of them, and none come close to what I am remembering. It's a paperback dealing with the origins of Iron man. i'll keep looking though

Try looking through the "trades" at your local comic book store. They may be nerdy but they are helpful.

Also, if you want to just browse the store without all the exposition, just remember:

"verbose /off"

I have the reprint of the Iron Man origin in the Son of Origins collection, which is essentially the first part of the movie up to where Stark escapes captivity. I was surprised on re-reading it to discover that there was a Yinsen character way back then. Nice to see that level of faithful detail.
