Original Equipment Ink for old Canon inkjet printers

For those who still have an old Canon printers and still need some ink.

It says its for an Apple Imagewriter, but it should work with the Inkjet printers in the 2000 and 4x00 series, which are the same machine. Not all stores have it still, so check zipcode.

I don't think this will work with the 3000 series; they have three separate ink tanks for color. The 2000 and 4000 series have three colors in one tank and another for black. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The two I referred to above are really the bc-21e and the bc-20 originals, not the brand-x versions.

I can't speak to the 2000 or 3000 but you are correct on the 4000 series. My old work horse printer is a Canon BJC-4100 that I have had for around 5 years or so and it is just a MUCH better quality printer than the low-end junkers we all buy for a little of nothing today. [It was a floor demo at Sam's and I paid $100 for it off the mark down shelf; a good price in those days].

The problem is, as you must know, the price of ink for these suckers. Just for the large black tank, the best price I have found is a 2 pack at Sam's for about $55. The color, with the print head, is of course much higher. If anyone needs the color print head too, these are excellent prices, but if you only need the small black and color tanks to insert into an existing print head, then Megatoners is a better way to go. Not sure what the current pricing is, but a few weeks ago I bought a handful of both black and coler tanks at $1.49 and $2.49 respectively, and since I ordered a dozen tanks, got free shipping.

They work just as well as the Canon brand so far...

I could use some cartridges for my BJ200e, but these don't look like they'll do it. 🙁
