Origin - game added by itself

Well, if your problem is a breach of privacy (lol) then there's nothing you can do about it now. It's already done and now you know that EA pays attention to what keys get associated with what email addresses (surprise!). If it bothers you then you simply boycott EA to show them you don't agree with their practices. If it's just a matter of not wanting it to show up on your list, then there's an xml file that origin uses that you can edit to get rid of it. I can't remember what or where exactly, but if you google "remove BF3 beta from Origin" you should find the file location.

I'm still utterly flabbergasted by how much this bothers you. It didn't install anything extra, you already have Origin installed which is the part that NORMALLY bothers people, and you only have one other game. You have one more icon in Origin than you normally do and that's it.

Don't you realize though? Having free stuff added to your Origin library is a serious goddamn problem and needs to be mended ASAP. Think of the ramifications. OP should probably lawyer up and sue.

Seriously though, it looks like this is only happening to people who own the game on Steam. Origin probably scanned your computer for previous installations of the game and used the serial number to activate it on EA's service. Regardless of whether or not you have the game currently installed, there is most likely some leftover userdata from the installation that contains your activation key, which sits in either your Documents folder or in the registry.

I think EA explicitly states that they can examine your hard drive in Origin's TOS, so there's not much you can do about that (other than not use Origin).

I have other games from EA to which I logged in using the EA account:
- Mass Effect 2
- Dead Space 2
- Dragon Age 1
- Dragon Age 2

None of them showed up (which I'm happy about - I bought them on Steam). I do not want to have anything changed in my account unless I say it's OK, how hard is that to understand?

how is anything being changed in your account? you own the game right? i don't see the problem.

Is this a serious question or are you just trying to get a rise out of the OP? Otherwise... it's a fairly well known fact that unless you got the game from steam in the first place, the keys you get for an EA game are Origin only. So if you buy from Amazon or anywhere else, it's Origin only.

Well they didn't change our accounts because we already registered NFS with EA online. All they did is make it easier to access the game we bought from them.
The Origin transition was confusing though. Most people don't realise it's EA online until they go research on google.
