fuck, make sure you turn off noscript or else you can't load disk 2 without losing your game.

i was halfway through a grueling pace and everyone was dead but me. twice i tried to ford the river, twice people died. jimmy got typhoid, someone else got exhaustion. fuck everyone else.
 
I made it through on my first attempt with 395 points, only 1 person left alive. It's a miracle I didn't starve in some places, fruit was keeping me alive. I lost a lot of food early on to a bad river ford attempt.

EDIT: Oops, actually I got 790 points for being a carpenter.

I remember my 9yr old niece teaching me to play Oregon Trail, who also taught me how to look up airline flights on Prodigy that day.
 
I remember playing this on an Apple IIe during computer class in middle school...

I don't think I ever beat it. Typhoid, bears, crazy rivers you can never cross without losing half of everything...

Oregon Trail is only for the most serious of "core" gamers!
 
I just beat it right now.

Went as carpenter. Everyone survived, even though my guys had typhoid, cholera, dysentery and measles. But I persevered the trail.
