Oregon Man has home ransacked after someone placed a fake craigslist ad

That's terrible. That's the second time I've heard of this happening in the news. You have to be some kind of sick to ruin somebody's life like that.
 
I read about phone hackers that like to call in fake hostage situations at other people's homes as well. People are assholes.
 
what ticks me off the most is that people rummaging thru his stuff refused to stop when he came home and told them to do so

Seems dumb but there were people here, AT, last time saying that they people that took stuff could not be arrested as they did nothing wrong. This was based on the lazy police not going after people and saying it was a "civil" matter. :roll:
 
I would say that everyone involved in that is guilty of theft (and likely vandalism as his home is almost certainly destroyed). The claim that they thought they had permission only goes so far and stops well short of "I saw a posting on the internet."

yea that last time IIRC it was some lady whos sister i think laced the add, she came back and people had taken everything, sinks, tubs, floorboards...
 
Thing is, most of us normal people would read a add like that and go lol yea whatever......

Then you have the douchebags of the world who go FREE STUFF COOL!

hundreds of offenses could warrant something like this. Theft, slander, trespassing, vandalism...... nailing your mom/sister/grandmother/girlfriend

Well good deals do pop up from time to time on craigslist, even the free section.

But I would never take something unless someone was there and/or put it on the curb (i.e. trash law) for me to get. Doing what these people did was sick and they should be arrested if they do not return 100% of what was taken.
