looks like every other build people are doing these days. I don't particulary like Antec PSU's but it should be good. You may get a comment about going with an SLI board if you don't play on using it. I would concur but you have not stated whether you plan to use it or not.

looks good i would say.

Even though that doubles the chance of failure, and offers few if any performance increases?

I would not recommend this...

Unless you're desperate, I'd wait a month or two for Conroe. Use a WD Raptor and I'd probably choose a Fortron PSU.

ok
1. Are you sure conroe is coming out that soon??
2. Getting 2 hard drives would cost alot more, so that is not an option and it doesent even really appeal to me anywase
3. about the psu, i think its ok i guess, but should i really change it?
4. i have logitech 2.1 speakers and i love them, i will probably stick with em for quite some time + i have sweet sony headphones that are good eneugh for my needs

1. Yes, early July. Current Pentium D's are scheduled to have a price drop this month. The bottom line is that both AMD and Intel are going thru a product refresh in preperation for the BTS selling season. I'm waiting for the changeover. I'll either go Concroe or go with one of the existing CPU's which will drop in price. I don't think it's wise to buy right now unless you really need a system ASAP.

2. You could use a small Raptor for your OS and a larger 7200 rpm drive for your files. 7200 rpm HD's are pretty cheap with sales and rebates.

3. If you already have it, then it'll be fine. If your buying new then I think Fortron is a tad better.

Thats hogwash!

you can't play the waiting game forever..
hardware refreshes all the time.. 6 month cycles seems to be the cycle.. sometimes less for various components.. If people played the waiting game their whole life, then they'd never own anything..

I say buy what you can afford.. That should be enough. I mean.. it isn't like its going to be slow

I didn't say forever. Things will become very interesting in a couple months. I'd rather buy at the leading edge then the lagging edge and there are specific refresh cycles in every component.

I agree that one call fall into an endless waiting game but in this case a couple months delay may be wise.
