I play poker for a living and right now i don't have enough time to put a machine together myself so i decided to buy one from avadirect. Will be used mainly for poker which some how uses up a lot of resources and newer video games as they come out. I'll be using 22" monitor.

Parts i'm pretty sure on

CPU - Quad core Q9550
CPU cooler - Xigmatek HDT-S1283
Ram - G.Skill 4gb pc2 6400 DDR2 800MHz 4-4-4-12
Hard drives - Two western digital 640gb
Case - Coolermaster cosmos1000
PSU - Corsair 750tx
DVD - Samsung SH-S223
Vista home premium 64bit

Would like suggestions on these parts, i listed the parts they have available

As far as features for the mobo i'm pretty basic, i don't use any extra cards and probably won't be using crossfire/sli. There are a few more but they are x48 which i think is sli or crossfire which i won't be needing

Mobo choices -
Asus P5Q Pro LGA775 intel p45
Asus P5Q deluxe LGA775 intel p45
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DQ6 LGA775 intel p45

Video card - HD 4870 x2 i want something thats going to last a while just don't know which card

The total comes out to $2770 about 300 of that is warranties wiring and some other misc things i wanted

That's a hefty price tag for that system. Even without the warranties they're charging a lot if you ask me.

CPU: Make sure your poker apps can utilize more than two cores if you're going to drop the dough on a chip like this. Frankly you'd probably do just as well to step back to a Q9450. If your poker apps are not multithreaded go with an E8500.

RAM: If they're charging you more for the 4-4-4-12 timings, don't pay for it. Timings have very little impact on the real world - they're mostly for bragging rights and synthetic benchmarks.

Case: Be aware that this is an enormous case. It's not the kind of thing that's likely to fit in the cabinet of a desk, so much sure that you have room for it wherever it's going to go.

Motherboard: You'll be fine with the P5Q Pro.

Video Card: How big is your monitor? If it's 22" or smaller I'd probably go with a 4850 or 4870 and upgrade later.

The Q9450 and Q9550 are the same price and the ram is 13$ difference. Right now i have a stacker 830 which is also huge and i do have plenty of room for it so not worried about that.

I run a 22" and 24" sometimes i might play games on the 24 if that makes any difference in video card choices.
