Maybe it's not the Egg itself, but at the CC confirmation page, a "Verified by Visa" appears and hangs indefinitely. Just hangs- it's supposed to redirect to the CC issuer and then back to the Egg for further instruction, but it still hangs. Says if you click back, you may be double-billed.
Haven't ordered from them for a while, so is this a newegg problem, a Firefox problem, a Visa problem??? Anyone else encounter this? I just checked the order update page- I did get charged (correctly) and an email confirmation that verification is complete.

Could be. Though I did allow "verified by visa" in scripts, but not all scripts.
Anyway, I couldn't wait and I just clicked off that page. Hope there are no billing problems.

Make sure that you allow scrips globally while making purchases. You can also check you CC account for any pending transactions.

Tweaker setting fail.

pick a browser you use and tweak it, pick another browser for trusted sites.

I use my main computer for banking and purchases only, no fooling around. Win Vista and FF. But with FF and trusted sites (like newegg, amazon, online banks), I assume that it's okay to just allow all scripts, no?
Or is there another browser which is just set it and forget, like Chrome? Is Chrome better for security?

If you are tweaking your security then you best know about it. Many sites will have issues.

Security is your own arena, I know some clients with multiple VPNs and xxxx bit encryptions. I know some that don't need anything.
