Ordering P4 2.4 800Mhz FSB (retail). Anything else I should order to go along with it?

(Forgive me for asking a stupid question, I have not had an Intel CPU since the PII days)

I remember ordering a copper shim for my AMD 1700+ CPU when I purchased it. Is there anything like this that I should order also? The retail box will come with a heatsink and fan.

I also have some Artic Silver II compound left over from my AMD XP 1700+ cpu install. Will I be needing it for my Intel CPU?

NO shims needed here...There is no raised core like the athlons...the retail HSF will sit flush on a smooth flat metal surface called an IHS or Integrated Heat Spreader...

Also AS2 is perfect...it is what I use!!!!

What is "AS2"?

The motherboard I am going to order is the Asus P4C800 Deluxe with the 875P chipset.

otherwise the normal is fine...
i personally like to have lots of features so i bought the deluxe for only 25 bucks more.

AS2 is acrtic silver 2

Get some decent DDR400 memory and stay with the original HSF if u don't plan on overclocking too much.

Make sure u have enough power too. I suggest a 350Watt or larger.
