The Hyper PSU has two striking flaws.

1-The modular connects double up at the PSU, this is not a good thing.
2-It is filled with Fuhjyyu caps, just about the worst used in PSUs.

Find and read the review at http://www.jonnyguru.com.

Solution?? Enermax Liberty or Corsair if you have to have modular.
Silverstone Element if you can breath another day w/o modular.

I've gone over that before, this is $1,400 TOTAL - shipping, taxes, rebates included

It would be another $100 to go with an E6300 and some average motherboard

I sure hope u don't live in Jersey, that's a mighty fine tax ur paying LOL..

Try monarch, and zipzoomfly.
I don't think either charges tax in jersey, and they both have better "cheapper" shipping options.

ur buying windows? N00ber. LOL

I thought there was a new model NEC out ,but won't really make a difference since they didn't change much

I'd choose to not buy AM2, because it doesn't OC as well and it also will give u trouble because the ram u selected won't OC at all

CHange processor to Opteron 146 at Monarch,

Motherboard to either a DFI nf4 or a Asus 32SLI

Ram, u can get anything really,

But the main point is to stay on socket 939,

AM2 gives you nothing.
besides (less overclocking potential

I'd stay away from that monitor ur about to buy, you might not think brand matters, but quality assurance is a bigg thing.

also 19" widescreens feel very very squished when ur actually using it. for widescreen you want at least a 20" with 1680x1050. there is a nice benq one that use LG panels,

I'd get an mx518 since the krait / any razor is dame uncomfortable. unless ur left handed, you should get an mx 518, do not get a G5 or G7 cuz the middle button is Shazz,, not good for gaming

7900gt gets pwned all over. w/e u do don't do the volt mod, it works for a little while, but has a high chance of failing over time..

get a x1900xt or xtx instead

Ur list to me seems like a first computer..

I'd cancel everything if u've ordered already and do some more research. OR listen to me and buy the changes i made..

but definitly look at monarchcomputing and zipzoomfly, EGG is a rip on the shipping and tax if applicable in ur state.

Sir! Is Google down for you? ;) A full tutorial can not be given for every PSU post,
by me or anyone else.

The Silverstone 500W Element is one hell of a better unit than Hyper and it Froogles
for ONLY $80.

You can get a E6400 system that rapes your AMD system for $1400 easy. But it's your $1400, so who cares.

Looks really good, the only thing I would change is the PSU. Knock the RAM down to to ValueSelect and use the money you saved to buy a better PSU.

... might as well get a seasonic PSU for that much money!?

do not get corsair XMS RAM if you're not going to get the most expensive board on the market, best RAM should always go with the best motherboard, otherwise, lose the XMS sticks 'cuz they are a rip off for a motherboard like that.

why are you getting a DVD drive for 26 bucks including shipping, when you can put four more dollars in to get a DVD-RW drive with free shipping_30 USD only?

skip the WD drive, get a seagate drive with NCQ

Windows XP Home sucks, get the Pro version, it's better for enthusiasts.

_I agree with the other guy, if you're gonna hit up on over 1K for a system build like this, a conroe would be way faster... (even on air, you can OC it to match Athlon FX's)

A lot of those seem like personal preferences rather then actual problems.
but I'll try to give my reasons and if you still think it's a problem I'll look into other parts

Here is the newegg version of the monitor people always put down - why would the brand matter? so many people bought this and apparently loved it
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824254005

What do you meen by best ram and best motherboard? This ram is on the Corsair compatible memory list and is only a few bucks more then value ram.
When I read the ram reviews a few people said they overclocked it (but I'm not even sure I will be overclocking, still iffy on it)

I have windows home right now and it's perfect for me, awhile back I was told the advantages of xp pro don't affect the average user but only buisnesses (this is just a single, home, gaming computer)

The reason I want the Krait is it seems to be the best, affoardable, gaming mouse with only 3 buttons and I'd actualy prefer not to have a 10 button mouse

What is wrong with Western Digital? This particular model seems like a crowd favorite to me

How does the 7900 GT suck? or is that only because it dies and not performance?
If I need to download some special program or driver to keep it going I will, fine with me. And the fact is I'm a gamer coming from a 5200 FX, I'm sure a 7900 GT won't suck for me.
- I'm going Nvidia sense I have an SLI motherboard and may SLI 2 cheap DX10 cards in the future
- The eVGA model has better specs then the rest and i've heard better customer support + a nice step up program

Isn't AM2 the now for AMD? I heard it performed better and the motherboards are compatible with future AMD proccessors

____
_______

Yep I live in N.J.:disgust: fricking taxes
But still Newegg is the most reliable source + 3 day delvery is good sense I couldn try building this weekend

This is my first computer build which is why over the months I've asked more experiences builders for their word but ussualy they just tell me prefernces rather then actual problems and often times only suggest parts that both cost more or to change brands witch I care little about

The thing with Conroe is I don't want to spend another $100, I'm only 14 and my parents are only paying litle $200 of this - I don't want to dig to deep into my bank

At one point I was leaning on an E6300 but to balance it out I needed a 7600 GT
When I was going to that
many told me a X2 3800 + 7900 GT > E6300 + 7600 GT

I'm realy ordering tonight but I planned on an all nighter yesterday which would make me to tired to check till it was ordering time in which I wouldn't be able to
Now I'm free for about 12 hours to hear more comments and do a bit more research

StevenNevets - Just read your latest update and I'll give you my take on your comments.

Your dad is right. A slower CPU with a faster video card is much better for gaming than a marginally faster CPU and a slower video card. As others have pointed out you could get an Intel e6300/6400 system for the same money but, you'd have to make sacrifices in other areas. The 3800+ system you specced out will probably be fine for your needs.

EVGA is a great video card company and I'd go with a 7900GT over a 7600GT. If I were you, though, I'd go with the 7900GT KO SC (super clocked) version. At 580MHz core clock it performs similarly to an X1900XT.

Yeah, I would go AM2 over 939. There's a good selection of motherboards out for AM2 now and there's little reason to go with an older technology.

What do you plan on using this computer for? I'm assuming gaming will be the number 1 use and Internet browsing, word processing second.

Windows Home will be fine for you. I've got XP Pro in my gaming PC and don't really notice any benefits over the Home version.

Nice job.

1. "Acquire" Windows some other way.
2. Use extra money to buy Asus P5B and E6300.
3. Drop Hiper PSU and get an Enermax Liberty 500W.

Nice job.
you're right, just gaming and the basics - nothing else to special
ya, that's what I thought - I read a list of the extra features and it didn't appeal at all

I would only buy a $100- psu from newegg. No other place
And I want a beefy psu sense I might go SLI-DX10 in the future
If there are any other decent quality 550w + psu off newegg I'd like to know.

If there arn't any others, well that's why I want this one

They just sold out of the video card...
Isn't this pretty much the same exact card besides a bigger rebate , differnt name, and diffrent a differnt package
- specs are the same

Everything looks fine expect the PSU. For the $100 price tag the Hiper is not at all good PSU. The specs are average at best, basically it excels nowhere and yet it it's selling for $100? Couple that with the fact it?s built with low quality parts (Fuhjyyu caps according to Galvanized) it and goes from bad to worse.

How do they not count?
If people like a product and it works they give it good ratings and reviews
If the product sucks or doesn't work they give it bad ratings and reviews

they system seems fair and informative to me?

In the past newegg reviews were biased because they were vetted and edited. Now bad reviews are no longer thrown out (or at least not as much as before) but they are still unreliable. Take for instance, Antec reviews for its smartpower line - 4-5 star product despite using bad capacitors.
