Ordering experience from CanadaComputers.com?

I'm used to dealing with NCIX.com and their great order processing communication system (continual updates on the status of your order as it is verified, filled and shipped). CanadaComputers.com is definately not as professional and I'm looking for good/bad experiences any of you may have had.

Right now CanadaComputers.com has an ATI x800xl AGP for $329 Canadian. This is an unheard of price and I jumped at it even though I had no experience with them. I placed my order last Wednesday (July 6th) in the morning and have heard nothing from them except the initial email summarizing my order and indicating it would be shipped UPS "as soon as possible".

I emailed their online order support on Friday (July 7th) asking for information on how/if I would be notified when my order shipped - they haven't responded.

CanadaComputers.com is linked to from enough other sites I'm inclined to believe they aren't shady, just slow. Anyone have similar experiences?

I ordered RAM from them before, and they shipped using UPS with COD. No problems.

Wow, that's an excellent price, I've never ordered from them though. I've stuck with ncix.com, tigerdirect.ca, and monarchcomputer.com (Atlanta based but excellent shipping prices to Canada).

People have had problems with CanadaComputer B&M stores for years. The X800XL status (in stock, then not in stock) has been a problem for a few people. People ordered it weeks ago, were charged on their CC, but haven't received anything yet. Sadly you're in Alberta so you can't go into one of their stores; maybe you should give the Markham (head office) a call.

Thanks for the input guys... especially that resellerratings.com site, that will come in handy Mrvile.

Good news... I just got my "your order has been shipped" email. Of course the UPS tracking site doesn't like the number they gave me. Maybe it's not in the UPS central system yet. *shrug*

*still hopeful*

Well today the tracking number actually works. Everything was a little slower (4 business days to ship) that NCIX has been for me (generally ship the next day) but for $329 I'll deal with it.

A few other people have done charge backs now because CC never shipped them or said they were "expecting" a shipment. Good luck.

Yeah I had a friend who did a charge back after not recieving his card for over a month. Strangly enough like 2 weeks after that the card arrived.
