So my order for my new lenovo has been charged but not shipped yet. It's only been two days so I'm not worried or anything.

Does anyone know how Newegg handles laptops? Do they hold them in their own inventory and just ship immediatley? I would have thought so, until I initiated a support chat on Newegg and the rep told me that Newegg will ship once they recieve the item from the manufacturer.

So, does Lenovo actually process the order and then send it to Newegg and then they send it to me? What's the arragement? Should I expect 2-3 week lag time like if I ordered from Lenovo directly? If so, that kind of sucks, since I was expecting to get fast shipment under the assumption that Newegg had those items in stock and would just ship them out.

So has anyone ordered a laptop from Newegg? What was your experience? How long did it take to ship? What brand?

I've never had a problem with items shipping from Newegg. I just ordered a Wind netbook yesterday (Friday) the 13th with UPS 3 day shipping and it shipped just a couple hours later as usual. It's coming from their NJ depot and will be here on Monday the 16th. I don't know if it's different with the Lenovo's.

You can go to Newegg's web site, log in to your account, and using your order number, you can track exactly what phase it is in, etc. It is not a "one size fits all" situation. Sometimes different items are in different locations.

You can also log into your credit card account and tell when the item is posted. That usually coincides with shipping.

And, lastly, it depends on what day of the week it is. A Friday order will probably not be worked on until the following Monday. If the shipment is UPS or FedEx, it will not be picked up until Monday at the earliest.
