for those STI owners.... does the STI have an option for a sun roof?

I hope not. More weight. If you are talking about the spec c, I can't imagine you want a Sunroof!

hrm. more weight....ok then was just something that popped into my head.

Saying that, mine has full leather, a sunroof and AC..... :p

you know, i heard that the early 90's mr2s w/ sunroof weighed less than the ones with the t's or full roof. odd dontcha think?

so then the STI does have a sunroof option? I probably wont import one, but may buy an STI sometime soon, maybe late august

Yeah, the Spec C started with the GD body style, the new style. The older GC had the Type RA and Type R which was the equivalent of a Spec C.

I have a hood vent from a Type RA, totalled my car before I got a chance to install it so now I have to buy a car to install it in;)

btw, I think they've sold out of the 05 Spec C, only 500 or so were made.

I know people with GC R's, RA's regular STi's and even GF STi's.

I have a GF WRX.

Damn Ukers;)

I had a black 99 Outback Sport with the version 5/6 frontend. Man that was a sweet car.

I can't say I like the new body too much, the GC/GF looked so much sleeker. Currently trying to find a nice GF to buy for a reasonable (yeah right!) price.

Yeah, it sucks that we have had the cult of the blown Scooby for ten years before you get a taste. :p

The aftermarket here is mature and the tuning reliable. I belong to the Subaru Impreza Drivers Club and I've met many owners and seen some awesome cars.

My car is a MY00 classic shape. It has a Cusco Front strut brace, the Jap Spec STi panel filter (no induction change to prevent MAF failure), the centre CAT has been removed for a Prodrive section and the axle back section is 2.75 with a 4" jap style slash cut exit. I have also had the suspension geometry set to the Prodrive settings (Prodrive run the Subaru World Rally Team and are based in the UK), so none of the usual understeer on my car. It could do with an anti-lift kit and a remap for about 270-280 horses, but that can wait ;)

I love scoobs. can you tell?

There is a lot of misinformation out there about registering a RHD car here in the states. Its not impossible as some people here have explained. It is difficult, and it will take quite a bit of time. But its not nearly as hard as some people have made it seem in this thread.

You just need to do the right research, which is not ATOT.

That said, I do agree that its stupid to import a Spec C for what you get. Regardless, it would be more then cool to have a RHD car. I plan on importing a Honda sometime in the next few years myself, so don't let the logistics of it phase you.

Spec C comes with a roof vent.

You're a dumba$$ - buy the car here. Just because it's "JDM YO" doesn' t really mean much...at least to anyone normal it doesn't. If you want a car from Japan, go and move there. I'm tired of stupid ricers trying to import Skylines etc. Yes it's possible but it'll be expensive as heck. I doubt and STI in Japan is any better than one here. I know the Evos are a bit more powerful there but there's a huge aftermarket for these cars here so there's nothing that can't fix in terms of power. If you don't have money for one here, you'll never have money for one that'd be imported.

1. No one will insure it - nor title it.
2. RHD is illegal in the states (or at least in FL it is), yes you can make it legal on paper but when you get pulled over I'll laugh at you when you go to court and they make you correct it - that'd really make my day.

The Japanese STi is very much different from the US one. If you don't like what he wants to do, just STFU. You posting a poorly imformed rant about it just makes you look like an ass, along with turning a nice thread into yet another 'ricer' thread.

Tool.

It'll cost you more to import it and meet regulations, than it will to buy a US STI and pimp it out and upgrade turbos.
