Make me feel jealous guys got it at $300 from gateway and cUSA. Those deals, which have come and gone, are the only thing stopping me from pay the fair price of $400 because you know it's just a matter of time before they pop up again.🙂

The cooling solution of the 6800gt most definitely isnt silent I dont know why you said that. For those coming from a 9800pro the 6800gt's cooling is in fact darn loud.

Actually, my evga 6800 gt fan is much quieter than my xfx 5900 fan.
They are not loud 😎

My EVGA Gt is 1 state away. Should have it in the morning. I will post results as well. Upgraded from a 9700Pro that died after only 1.5 years, never OC'd the damn thing either. Glad to be back with NVIDIA

400.00 used to be the Highest end card the last few gens with the exception of the 5950 and 9800XT. I dont ever remember seeing the highest end cards when first released go over this. This gen, they prices cant go down because stock is low everywhere. Prices for these cards should have been 100 less for every performance segment.

6800U 400
6800GT 300
6800 200

To me, those are fair prices. I would wait for the gateway deal as well as that is the only way I would buy one of these cards. Waiting for an NV PCI-e 6800/GT myself. Going to make an SLI rig eventually.
As this is a pricey thing to do, I want to wait for the very best deals I can find.

woohoo my card just came in! now I will be itching to get home from work all day 😛

came with the full version of far cry too, sweet.

6 CD's to install with, have fun! You can tell me if you also see some rendering issues with far cry using the June drivers that come with the install CD.

ok, just popped in the card and OC'd it to 400/1110
so far no problems. will report 3dmark03 score shortly 🙂

400/1100 is flawless. I'll try higher when I get home! 🙂

3dmark score on my machine is 11680
P4 2.4B @ 3.02ghz (168fsb) with the fastest timings.
512mb Corsair XMS 3200 Ram.
ASUS P4PE Board

Pretty pleased thus far.

That's great to hear. I'm waiting for my PNY 6800GT to get here. I hope I have as good luck as you did. 🙂

$400 is not THAT expensive, I bought a vanilla Annihilator 2 back in the day after it first hit the market. The price then was $399.99 and with next day shipping and tax it rounded out around $460. That?s the prices we pay to be "enthusiasts." I'm personally lookin at the BFG GT-OC, for $399.99 it already comes OCed and has a Lifetime warranty (or so i've read).
