well before I called and spoke to the guy it was gonna be like 1,670 with $200 mail in rebate, but after calling I was able to get it for 1528 with 200 mail in rebate
 
Make sure to give Dell another call to order your replacement keyboard.
 
your keyboard will probably be fine. the 8500's are notorious for bad/bouncy keyboards. the 'fix' has been a bit of foam underneath the keyboard to keep it from moving around too much inside the casing. when you start typing you'll either notice right away or it should be fine.
