Ordered a laptop. Am I cutting it too close? UPDATE: Package arrived today!!

Back story: Going on a vacation to India on 11th of Dec.. and one of my best friend asked me to purchase a laptop as there is about $200 difference in price.

Estimate ship date is on the 7th of December... and it is a 3 day UPS shipping option(This is the quickest delivery option). I have no prior experience ordering a laptop.. so my question is.. will the laptop be delivered on time?

I wouldn't cut it that close. If UPS misses that third day (a Saturday) or if it ships just one day late, you won't get it until Monday.

You couldn't find it from a place that offers in store pickup?

It is a Lenovo.. the only prior experience I had was ordering a Macbook.. which does not help in anyway.

Well, if they ship it early, you will get it. From my experience, lenovo is very good with shipping early.

Unfortunately, I am not the one to decide the budget for my friend. His budget is $600.. and I don't have much leeway on that. :\

watch out going to india if you are also taking your own laptop.

They are pretty strict about importing things like this... security will ask questions if you have 2 laptops, and it will definitely be taken off you if its still in the box.

I got away with it because there was 3 of us traveling and I said that the second was hers... but it still took a while to get through with all the extra questions.

Nope, I don't have a laptop of my own.. taking only 1 laptop. It should not a problem.
