Ordered 2 80mm Panaflos for PSU and case.. do I need special adapter/wires?

I want to swap the current PSU fan for the panaflow.. and use the other panaflow as an exhaust fan or something.

I orderd from BG Micro.. and it hasnt come in yet, but I want to know if I will need some special power lines to get it up and running
 
I have 80mm Panaflos from BG Micro. They came with a two pin plug which looks like a 3 pin, but is not designed for a 3 pin motherboard fan header. All you need to do is shave off any protruding clips and you can fit it onto the 3-pin header by making it cover the two pins for power. Just leave the monitoring pin uncovered. That's the cheapest and easiest way.
 
If you shave off just the protusion on the red wire side, the other protrusion will help you to correctly orient the plug.
 
I don't know how much you know about electronics but I will tell you to beware when working in a PSU, there are extremely high voltages in there. If you're not too sure what you're doing I'd at the very least get someone with a good electronics bavkground to supervise. Otherwise the most I could see you needing would be a 3-pin to 4-pin converter if you're not plugging the fans directly in the motherboard.

You don't need anything special. All you need is electical tape, wire cutters / wire stippers (scisors will work), and a screwdriver.

In my power supply, an A1 Electonics Dual fan, one of the fans was hooked up by a 2 pin lead, the other was sodered directly to the board of the power supply.

1. Open up the power supply, remove the old fan, and cut the wires if its directly in the base of the PS.

2. Connect the Blue panaflo wire to the blue or black fan wire in your power supply.

3. Connect the Red wire of the Panaflo to the red or yellow fan wire of your power supply.

4. Screw in the new fan, close up the case.

It takes 10 mins. tops. I have little to no electrical experience, but it took me less than 20 mins to figure it out.
 
But, if you do find a way to wire it to where the original PSU fan was connected, make sure the monitoring wire is unplugged. If your PSU has the ability to juice up your fans, your Panaflos aren't going to be very quiet.
