Orbitz charges a fee?

I've hadn't used Orbitz for about 4 years but booked a one-way flight with the on United a few days ago. I check my credit card account this morning and there is a $6.99 charge from Orbitz. I looked around their site and didn't see anything mentioned about a fee until I read some small print saying they charge a fee in order to offer the lowest prices. They include this fee in the amount of the other required fees (airport, 9/11, etc) so it isn't obvious it is their fee.

So I check the United website and sure enough, they are cheaper by the amount of the fee.

Fuck Orbitz.
 
It's been there for a long time. You can always look the flights up on a travel site then book them directly through the airlines.
 
Yeah, I think I have just been spoiled since I usually fly Southwest and book directly through their site.
