Bose get's a bad reputation and to a large extent they do deserve a lot of it but this is on a whole new level in my experience.

I'll just point out the page to their Super Eight subwoofer. Maybe instead of pointing out what is wrong somebody should try to find something they've done right.

Have you actually auditioned any of thier products? Anyway, you want to talk about power in a small package, they use these in 120mm main gun tank simulators. One hundred sixty watts through that is about like the bass of a high-efficiency sound reinforcement 18" subwoofer running at a thousnd watts.

Ever since getting the Vifa/Dayton kits, my PC 's audio ancillary hasn't changed. You get what you pay for. 😛

I think a good point here is while Bose may claim to offer awesome sound in a small package and fail to do so, doesn't mean it's not possible.

For a good example, Bob Carver's original Sunfire Subwoofer was a pretty amazing technical feat of SPL and frequency range vs it's power draw from the wall.

Hmm, looks like the old Apple ball speakers. I use 2 pairs of the apple ball speakers, modified of course. These look nice, but over-priced IMO. My system would shred these. Copper looks sweet tho!

And while most Bose stuff is crap, you have to admit, their wave system is nice, if overpriced.

Specks for the Super Eight...

"400 watts Peak" No mention of RMS power, meaningless.

"25-200hz" 200hz for sub..... ok. 25hz +/- what vs. the rest of it's freq. response. I mean my clock radio goes down to 25hz too at about -100dba.

"Max SPL 111dba" 111dBA... probably at 200hz.

Maybe they do have a decent product but if they do they could really use a better marketing department to represent it.

Depends on your definition of "awesome". If you are looking for anything remotely accurate then yes they certainly fail. To many people thats not important, which accounts for their huge success.

Exactly. Like iPods. Everone has an iPod, not for quality (there are better quality media players) But for simplicity and style. I'm no knocking iPods, I have 2 myself, just making a statement. If I was super rich, I would rip every ibuds out of peoples ears and give them real headphones or earbuds. I cant believe ipodders spends hundreds on gear and use the $2 dollar packaged buds.

Ok...

The F3 is 25Hz and the RMS is 150w
