What a strange name. I thought he was referring to some rare bird or something.
Or is the fan named after a bird because it moves a lot of air?

I think you read it the wrong way..if your ordering 10 of them...they cost 5.99 each...just assuming you didn't know

I do.. That's how you get AS5 @ 0.50$ a gram. :p

What are people selling them for now? 10$? 15$?

These Yate Loon's are sleeve bearings so they're a lot quieter. They also don't move as much air as the Panaflo's and those 38mm Panaflo's will deal with back pressure a lot better. YL's aren't the best fan in the world to use against a radiator or anything like that due to back pressure, but for how much air they move at their sound level they're golden.

Also, a lot of people seem to be turned off by sleeve bearings. Honestly in a 92mm or 120mm fan these bearings will last a long time. Yes they fail pretty fast in those little chipset fans but those little monsters run 4,000-8,000 RPM on average. These Yate Loons spin around 1200RPM at full tilt. I have 5 of the D12SM-12 in my rig and at 5v they spin around 850RPM. That's nothing to worry about for the life span of a sleeve bearing.

Hmmm, I may pick some up for my new system, these would probably work well in a Antec P180... Now I need to find me a good fan controller
