So in September ICE & CBP took a Georgia factory staff from South Korea into custody.

More than 300 South Korean nationals detained by federal agents in a massive immigration raid last week on a Hyundai plant in Georgia for alleged visa violations were released from a detention center early Thursday and boarded a charter flight back to their country.

Last Thursday Ford and SK ON discontinued their electric battery partnership.

Ford and SK On formed BlueOval SK in 2021 to build three battery plants: two in Kentucky and one at Ford’s 6-square-mile manufacturing site in rural West Tennessee. The plants represent a combined $11.4 billion investment.

BlueOval SK reported in September that it had hired 350 employees in Tennessee and 1,450 at its battery plants in Kentucky.

Ford announced a $2 billion investment in August to convert a Kentucky manufacturing plant to build electric vehicles, starting with a mid-sized electric pickup truck slated to launch in 2027.

Today BlueOval SK CEO issued a video statement laying off all 1600 Blue Oval employees at the company’s Glendale, KY battery plant.

The Glendale facility will be converted to manufacture 5 MWh+ advanced battery energy storage systems. Ford said it plans to produce LFP prismatic cells, battery energy storage system modules and 20-foot DC container systems at the Glendale campus. Operations are expected to begin in 2027.

The administration's hatred of electrification is setting up the US auto industry to repeat the great times of the late 70s and early 80s or worse. It's the most short sighted shoot your own foot national industrial "policy" in US history. The US auto industry is fucked.

RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) — A digital billboard along the Richmond bypass is generating strong reactions with its blunt political message: "YOUR PRESIDENT IS A FELON."

Why would the billboard promote anything but a shrug? Trump voters knew Trump was felon when they voted for him. Shitty people enjoy being shitty.

It is esp when you read Ford's ceo comment on how efficient China new cars are (not just performance but to build and maintain)

So the 19 is quickly approaching; wanna bet no republicans will be mentioned in the report and some lame excuse will be given for their exclusion despite none being investigate ?

Declassifying weed seems like a very popular move. But will it negate the millions of unpopular things this admin is doing?
Its because of the level of scum that exists in the white house.

"How do we bring back the blacks and the poor? Place a story in the media about weed legalization. People like that vote on those lines. Its not like.we have to follow through on anything. Just need it for the news cycle.
We can loop the headline back in if we need to"

It's political theater; the Republicans will not pass the subsidies into law.

Even if it passed the Senate its a certainly Trump will veto. As a signal about what House Rs think is going to happen next year it's crystal clear. Curious to see how many defections happen in the Senate.

I'm not super confident of that. It's a political disaster that mostly affects their own constituents. They have a pretty strong electoral incentive to do this and while they might not care about actual people they do care about keeping their seats.

Trump is not smart enough to say yes.

It might be stopped by Trump or the Senate but as far as the House goes I'm not sure why someone would buck leadership to vote for a discharge petition only to turn around and vote it down. Seems like if you didn't want it to pass you just keep your head down and let Johnson block it.

Oh for sure they (House) will pass.

and here we go again:

"National security", I am sure.
What do we call it when the military neither recognizes nor answers to the people?

Were I prone to suspicion I'd say that Trump is having trouble remembering who these people are.

At my previous job they were big into displaying org charts all over the place.

When no one was around I would rearrange them and put the biggest idiots at the top of them.. the senior leaders would get pissed so they put them behind a locked window

I bet a staffer could do the same and trump would not notice it. Say flip him and Reagan around. Both have / had memory problems
