As recently as last week, the administration told consular officials to deny visas to anyone who might have worked in factchecking or content moderation, for example at a social media company, accusing them in blanket terms of being “responsible for, or complicit in, censorship or attempted censorship of protected expression in the US”.

Reminder that once again GQP doesn't understand the 1st Amendment and who it restricts.

So today USA seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuelan. What possible justification can they have for this action other than USA has become a bunch of pirates taking what they want when they want.

Nothing to see here just SOCOM pulling an IRGC and just stealing a ship on the high seas without any legal justification or authorization from congress.

edit: I see there is a seizure order from a US judge for this vessel but I really don't think it includes this kind of action if it was in international or VZ waters.

I believe the ship at least may have been under sanctions. But still very sus given all the shit they're doing in the Caribbean.

From what I understand, the sanctions we have against Venezuela is that any oil they sell to any other country we can impose a secondary 25% tariff on, If one already exists. That's the sanction. right? You buy oil from Venezuela, we pop you with a 25% tariff. AFAIK we have zero authority by any conventions to just take tankers at will that looks like it's heading to another country to sell its oil. Because I thought that's called piracy. So does that mean other countries can do likewise to our export tankers? Is there any idea that we have the legal right to take Venezuelan oil tankers that might be bound for sale to, say China?

So he's "selling" a path to citizenship?

More money he can convert to crypto to use for bribes, pardons etc. Now we know why the Trump Crime Family got into crypto. Untraceable bribes. Coke, cash, or crypto..... no one rides for free!

Welp, Here come in the foreign mobsters. Trump is bringing in his Russian money laundering buddies. Osama bin Laden was a millionaire and would qualify for citizenship under the current administration. Nothing like making it easy for foreign countries to send more military age terrorist to invade America.

Of course, the people will have to be personally vetted by TrumpCo. The ones that pardoned drug kingpins and frauds Trump says he didn't know.

Seems illegal, but that's okay, because it's Trump.

Yep, those will all have to be cancelled, and put on the bottom of the entry list, when sanity returns, and the criminal is at minimum exiled.

I think it was the ship and specifically related to Iran sanctions coupled with not being properly flagged.

It's still extremely saber rattling and ridiculous in light of all the other things (ie, murders) being done.

In another effort to tank the economy. Kill tourism in the US. It seems Trump is going to force foreign tourists to provide 5 years of social media history before being allowed to visit the US. If other countries were to do this, Trump would never be allowed to travel out of the US.

Don't worry, the Republican's now have a plan.. no more ACA subsidies, replaced with $1000 to $1500 HSA contributions for those making under 700X the Federal poverty level. That will surely help fix the problem..
