I don't love Gavin Newsom but he is sticking it to the syphilitic orange menace.
More state leaders need to do the same.
Newsom threatens to cut state funding to universities that sign Trump's political compact
I mean He's trying to get 500M from Harvard to get this admin to release their funds.

""If any California University signs this radical agreement, they’ll lose billions in state funding — including Cal Grants — instantly," Newsom said. "California will not bankroll schools that sell out their students, professors, researchers, and surrender academic freedom.""

That sounds like socialism to me..

Not at all. It was a contract between the US Government and myself.

I fulfilled my obligation in exchange for certain benefits. One of those benefits was a Retirement Check and Tricare for life.

Sorry it annoys you.

No

If the government produced a product and sold it then yes you would be correct

But instead the government gets money from tax payers

But with your logic then nothing will be socialism because there is a contract for everything

Whatever dude.....

It’s not whatever. It’s that you participated in one of the largest socialist programs in history and benefited greatly from and still do to this day and yet when the rest of the country wants a tiny little fraction of what you got your response is FYGM.

Enjoy the benefits I and the rest of the country provide you with you selfish prick.

Google is blocking AI searches for Trump and dementia

Google appears to have blocked AI search results for the query “does trump show signs of dementia” as well as other questions about his mental acuity, even though it will show AI results for similar searches about other presidents.

I just did a similar search and for Biden (using the AI mode link) I got a nice AI generated summary. Doing the same search for Trump and I only got a list of websites so the claim seems accurate.

What you don't mention is the actual agreement the orange stain is trying to force schools to sign that restrict what they can teach.

The bold statement came less than a day after the White House asked the University of Southern California and eight other major universities throughout the country to shift to the right and agree to Trump's views on gender identity, admissions, diversity and free speech among other areas — in exchange for more favorable access to federal research grants and additional funding.

As ever, the cruelty is the point. VA doctors can no longer even write referrals for trans patients seeking care at their own expense outside of the government healthcare system.

@pcgeek11 is this how you want the VA to treat vets?

Do we even need to ask?

For those that can't follow a thread conversation, or are purposely avoiding the context of that thread conversation.

Dank69 asked me:

What's your monthly cost for prescriptions once you add in the cost for "excellent" insurance?

I replied:

Tricare for life. Zero Cost...

There are no premiums that I pay for Tricare for Life.
@Jaskalas I was hoping he would at least respect the service of his fellow service members and determine they were being treated unfairly for that reason. But I guess the geek just chose to ignore the subject entirely while picking a weird ass fight about him saying his healthcare is free while he pays a co-pay.

Socialism for me, not for thee... IOW FYGM.

Its the primary recruitment tool for ages with a good marketing campaign.

Majority of recruits joined because
They wanted the state to pay for housing and food while also receiving a stipend in the form of pay.
They wanted the state to pay for their education as well as subsidize future education costs.
They wanted a state run health care system.
They wanted these services in exchange for a short time commitment, some with as little as 3 years. Most 8.

The data points not to "protecting americans" as the incentive for joining.
The data points to "I want stuff from the state".

If the US did not offer veteran benefits, meaning treating veterans and simple alumni and not extending post employment benefits, the US would see recruitment drop substantially and the force structure would see a dramatic decline in quality and. capability.
It would make the Russian military look like a high quality fighting force.

Democrats need to be less hesitant to lever institutions not to capitulate to wildly unconstitutional actions by a would be authoritarian president. Same thing for companies paying him naked bribes, it should be explicit that investigation and prosecution lay ahead when he's gone.

It appears that Trump and Co have committed another act of premeditated murder with the sinking of another Venezuelan boat.
Not stopping with just a few boats.
TACO Don wants to be a WAR President.
He already unilaterally declared WAR and is setting the Pentagon to task on attacking Venezuela.

Honestly, I'd be surprised if our demented Emperor had the balls to land troops.
I suspect he's all talk and for shooting the defenseless from a safe distance.

This all makes me wonder which cartel Trump is in cahoots with on this strategy. Who benefits when you take out the Venezuelan-controlled production and/or distribution networks? Colombians? Mexicans?

If It's one thing I know the America First people demanded it was *checks notes* regime change in Venezuela.

Trump is already taking a lot of political flack for appearing more interested in foreign adventuring than domestic affairs and I doubt this is gonna help as more and more people sour on the economy.

Campaign on lowering inflation. Stop minting pennies. Start minting a dollar coin that nobody was asking for with the ugly mug of the dude the majority of the population despises. Nice.
