Also the parent company response is so stupid and bland. Here is what the company said:

“we believe independent, sound science clearly shows that taking acetaminophen does not cause autism.” She added, “We strongly disagree with any suggestion otherwise and are deeply concerned with the health risk this poses for expecting mothers and parents.”

If they had some balls they would specifically name Trump and say he is wrong. They would point out RFK incessant medical conspiracies and tell people to get medical advice from their doctor onlym
Thats not too surprising a statement given the generally heavy regulations around pharmaceutical communications and claims they are allowed or not allowed to make.

They seem to have drawn the line at getting ACA subsidies extended and Medicaid cuts reversed. Trump's told them to fuck off. Polling suggests that the public backs their approach.

It's the politics of a shutdown. Democrats need to appear to be the reasonable ones so the shutdown blame falls on Republicans. Many people are not highly tuned into politics.

Don’t fall into the trap. The Republicans control both houses of congress and the White House. If the government is shutdown it is because the Republicans want it shutdown. They only talk to the Democrats when Republican infighting gets too bad. Since the Republicans have no integrity they can’t be trusted to honor any deal they make with the Democrats. To Republicans, dishonesty towards Democrats is owning the libs.

Anybody watching trump addressing the UN General Assembly? What a shit show. He’s rambling like I’ve never seen him rambling before. Every single talking point is about him and all the “great” things he has done. Constantly blaming US problems on the previous administration.

Grandpa said the teleprompter wasn’t working.

I just tuned in and I’m already disgusted. This guy is the fucking dumbest person I’ve ever heard!

I wonder how many of the 36% that oppose are losing/have lost their coverage or have relatives affected (or are likely to lose their nearby hospital as a result).

That sounds pretty typical for him.

Man if silence was lethal the UNGA would have killed Trump like a dozen times by now.

They knew it was going to be a shit show but didn’t realize it was going to be this bad. He was talking shit about climate change and open borders telling UNGA that they were very bad.

There is a floor of support that will be basically impossible for him to decline below. I think that floor is probably in the low 30s. The question for Rs is if his low support and high voter unhappiness results in vote erosion in a midterm where the outparty is already favored to pick up seats. Does it turn a loss from not great (losing some house seats and the majority) into cataclysmic (losing senate seats and that majority too).

I agree, just pondering how many of them are opposing blindly when it will directly or has already directly had a negative impact on them (I know some of these people don't realize their state's name for it isn't "Medicaid")

When you are that far gone little, if anything, can move you.

I find right wingers complaining about big pharma hilarious, before COVID they were the ones saying drug companies need to make billions and charge insane amounts for drugs because if they didn't make money they wouldn't develop new drugs.
There is only one thing that RFK Jr. has proposed that I agree with. STOP the marketing!

I wouldn't waste one minute listening to him live. The reports confirmed that it was a rambling lists of complaints (Trump learned that from Hannity) and he blamed the UN for virtually everything wrong with the world. Knew it! Oh, maybe the subject is the presser and not his UN diatribe.

Except Dems are even more unpopular and poll lower on the issues when put against the GOP.

Doctors are not all knowing, and they may not be aware of when a new drug that could benefit their patients gets approval. Not every doctor has their finger on the pulse of the latest and greatest. I had this exact issue when my dad had metastatic hormone sensitive prostate cancer and I suggested a drug with a milder side effect profile that they could try. Doc told me it wasn't approved for that, not realizing it actually had been approved for that indication 4 months prior.

And patients may not always know that there could be genuinely better options for their condition out there (see point about doctors not always staying in the know). The doctors don't have to do what the patient says, and they can always talk to their patients about the risks and benefits of switching treatments.
