this guy is such a good businessman!

What's sad is the MAGAts are on his side and blaming Canada for this situation. Has Canada ever pissed anyone off? Trump pisses off non MAGAs around the world daily, but let his cult tell it and Canada's the bad guy here. It's so bizarre to see them back him unconditionally no matter how wrong he is.

So we say we all hate the syphilitic orange menace and that makes us terrorists?

GTFO.

Our resident Constitution-lovers will be along to express their outrage at this violation of the 1st Amendment immediately, I'm just sure of it.

Edit: actually, on second thought, the play will probably be "without seeing what the messages actually say, we can't be sure, no reason to think the 1st Amendment has been violated based on the given info"

Any minute now the conservatives who complained about cancel culture and “law fare” will express their outrage at this.

I thought it was already determined that Trump/dodge doesn’t have this power?
Who is going to stop him? He ignores court orders and he can't be held in contempt of court thanks to the six traitors on the supreme court who gave him a crown.

This is not nuts. This is obviously what was going to happen when the six republican clerics on the supreme court made Trump above the law. Everyone thought I was being hyperbolic when I said welcome to Germany 1933 when he predictably won. I just wonder when the death camps are coming.

It’s the 21st century. There won’t be any death camps…on US soil. When someone else has a competitive advantage—you offshore that shit. Guantanamo and Bukele’s El Salvador got first dibs. I’m sure there will be more. Who’s next…Saudi Arabia?

It is a bit nuts. I don't think a lot of us thought that less than 2 months into his presidency Trump would want to annex Canada, and would be detaining white Canadian and European tourists like they are terrorist threats.

The whole situation with USIP is looking pretty ugly. Judge doesn't want to issue a TRO forcing DOGE to leave, because it could turn into an armed standoff.

While the action of the Trump administration is quite nasty I don't believe 1st amendment apply to non-citizen. However the path the administration is taking will destroy the advancements in medicine and science and basically make America an undesireable place.

When non-citizens have First Amendment rights

The First Amendment begins, "Congress shall make no law...." In that sense, it shouldn't be viewed as telling people or corporations what they can do but instead as telling the government what it cannot do. So, it applies anytime a federal, state or local government tries to restrict one of the five freedoms.

Some examples:

  • Speech: A musician from India may tour the country, performing songs that are critical of U.S. foreign policy without fear of being punished.

Bullshit it’s clear discrimination based on viewpoint. It’s a textbook 1st amendment violation. Being critical of the President is NOT terrorism regardless of who does it.

CBP has really broad authority to deny admittance of non-citizens into the country. Even if they have entirely valid visas. A lot of people are not aware of that.

I also fully turn off my devices when I return to the US because they cannot make citizens give them the passwords (biometric access usually treated differently).
