Governors can refuse such a deployment. Anyway practically the TX guard would probably be “greeted” by CA guard.

There is not enough military power in the us to quell a rebellion of like half the country if they precipitate one.

"Half the country" wouldn't participate in anything. In fact the vast majority of normies will recoil the first time they see some young protesters mowed down.

Invocation of the insurrection act and mobilization of the NG is like the last desparate act to stay in power, not something that is likely to be particularly successful.

In MA, if your ballot was not accepted by the local election official, there is no reason you can't vote in person. I don't see how that would be any different elsewhere (if your mail ballot will miss the deadline, then your in person vote will be the thing that counts).
Mail in ballots are udp traffic with logging, they are not tcp traffic. You cannot verify the polling station did not receive your packet until it's too late to do anything about it. If you show up at a polling station and say 'yeah I mailed one in but didn't hear back', unless they have a dedicated drop-dead time for that udp packet, they aren't going to let you put in another vote.

Well, then you fill out a provisional ballot. Only one will get counted. If the mail in ballot is lost, provisional ballot gets counted. If mail in ballot is counted, provisional is tossed.

And you don't even have to use the USPS to return mailed ballots. Most places have drop boxes.

I know, but if you've already mailed it in it's a bit late to drop it off at a drop box. With the shenanigans Republicans are playing I'd wager they'd just toss provisional ballots as well. Or keep the mail in ballots and use those as proof of a hand-wavey voting fraud.

I think when that stuff starts seriously happening, they lose their legitimacy and you have permission to burn down the building, metaphorically speaking.

They can't claim the protection of the law if they are going to undermine the law for their own purposes.

Our protest yesterday seemed significantly larger, and people are still saying "I wish I'd known about it sooner so I could have been there", so I think they may continue to grow in size.
Edit: the "official" estimate is 2,300 people.

I did appreciate this sign.

This one is from the march from the gathering point to the capitol grounds.

Then shove it in your country auditor or who ever locally in your area counts votes face.
