There is a huge anti American surge in Europe right now. You have read all the headlines of companies not serving oil to US naval vessels and so on but it's very much a reflection of the sentiment among regular folks. Cars? People are even boycotting supermarket items like Coca Cola and other American brands.

The MAGAs believe this too, and when they hear the illegals are coming here in search of a Visa. They think it means free credit cards, which they believe illegals are being given.
