Orange Box

hmm ya but there's 500 dollars worth of new 360 games I want that come out between now and the end of November. I'm trying to trim the list down. I already have HL2 and EP1 for pc. I thought it would be nice to play cs from my couch. I may wait to see how good tf2 is and how big of a 360 community it gets.

TF2 is awesome, I'd pay 50 for it alone, I probably did since I never beat HL2 or played EP1. I did try Peggle for a few minutes...

I'm assuming the 360 version is in no way related to steam so you couldn't gift the HL2 and EP1.

i'm going to eventually get the orange box for my pc but can the ps3 and 360 versions play against each other? i dont think they'll play with the pc version, but it might make sense to have the consoles be able to play each other.

So, can I safely assume that TF2 will not be platform-compatible with the PC version (that is, that 360 players won't be playing against PC players)? I hope so, because I am inclined to buy the 360 version, but don't want to be constantly getting hammered by mouse-keyboard players.

No. No cross-platform play. Shadowrun is still the one and only game that has implemented this.

I didn't get it for 360 because I figure there will be hardly anyone playing it on 360, with Halo 3 and COD4 being out. So I have to play it with shitty graphics on a 4 year old computer, but it still rules.

I'll definitely be picking it up...but it might have to wait a couple of months. I have Bioshock, Halo 3, Forza 2, DiRT, and Madden 08 I'm trying to play....too many games...not enough time.

Yeah that is what I'm worried about. I'll wait to see how popular it is on xbox. Plus as Prickly said...there's just so much stuff coming out.

I've actually never heard how that went. I am getting the vibe that it went badly...

Shadowrun had problems beyond the cross-platform play - Vista, price, lack of maps and game modes, etc. One could argue though that trying to make cross-platform play work took away time that could have been spent making more maps and game modes though.

I think it was announced yesterday that cross platform play between PS3 and PC for UT3 has been cancelled because of problems they would have with patches and versions.
