Orange box multiplayer for console question

Has valve announced anything about orange box multiplayer and if it will be cross platform?

For example if I am playing on the PS3, can I play against people on the xbox and vice versa.

I have both consoles but my TV only allows 1080p via HDMI, so I would rather buy games for the PS3 for that reason alone, but I am sure more people will have it for 360 so multiplayer may be a little better on that console
 
Well I haven't heard any mention of cross platform play, and I wouldn't buy it for the PS3 to get 1080p because most likely it will be running at 720p (I might be wrong). The 360 is also capable of 1080p by either the use of HDMI on the newer models, or the VGA cable on the older models. On both platforms the game has to support the 1080p resolution and the box should state whether or not it supports it.

If it's multi player you're interested in then I'd say get it on the 360 all the way because you can play over Xbox Live, and I think the 360's controller is much better set up for FPS games than the PS3.
