I also got a Opty 165 CCBBE 0610 DPMW stepping from Monarch ($270 with coupon) a couple of weeks ago, but I can only do 275x9=2475 on my crappy A8N-SLI mobo because this mobo can't go over 275 FSB (piece of sh!te doesn't even POST). Alas, tomorrow I'm getting my new DFI SLI-DR Expert board, and hoping to be able to reach 3GHz with the opty.

I feel your pain - I had the a8n-sli deluxe and couldn't post over 277, and not stable above 275. Not that my abit is a whole lot better, but at least I can get to 288. I've thought about the DFI or an Epox, but I've decided to try to control my habit until I'm staring down a socket upgrade...

i am pissed. everyone is getting great steppings from monarch and i get opty 165 CCBWE 0604.
not the greatest stepping out there. i am at 2583 right now and it is rock steady but i am hoping for 2.7ish with tweaking.

Im going to go out on a limb and assume your board is a DFI? If so thats nearer 1.5v, stil good, but not what you're making it seem 😉

i have been playing bf2 for 2 hours at 2649 so i guess it is stable.

i pushed it to around 2750 before it locked up. it seems i hit the wall at 2.8 with this cpu. not bad but i really wanted to break 3gig.

I just got my DFI Lanparty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert board, and currently i'm at 300x9=2700 at 1.37 V and 39C full load (I set it to 1.4V in BIOS, although I'm not sure if that's really required). So far everything has been going smooth, except for the fact that I had to reinstall windows after I replaced the motherboard (it did not boot from the old install, but I might try to "repair" the old install later).

Update: currently testing at 320x9=2880 MHz, 1.47V, 45C load temps. Memory 2x1GB @ 160 MHz (DDR 320) 2-3-2-5-1T. HTT 3X. Seems very stable, SP2004 running for half an hour so far.

Will try to increase the memory clock, possibly with higher latencies. I might also try higher FSB nad maybe lower multipliers. But so far I'm quite satisified with the board and CPU.

So last thursday I ordered a 165 from monarch. Got it in yesterday and have been playing around. Currently at 3006mhz @ 1.44 volts. Stepping is CCBBE 0610DPMW.

Now I am up to 3 hours prime stable but the screenshot is from like 20 mins in or so. Enjoy

Hate you... lol, my pieca trash 165 strugged at 2610mhz and then shut itsself down after reaching 70C. Also it failed prime, needless to say...
