I can get my Opty to run SuperPi 32m at 2.6GHz @ 1.39v but it takes 1.51v to make it dual prime stable. Is such a big difference in volts normal for SuperPi 32m and Prime both to be stable? I can get it up to 2.77GHz SuperPi 32m @ 1.55v but core0 fails Prime within a minute and I don?t want to push anymore volts through it just to be Prime stable. Anyways I'm not complaining I've got a great DC that cruises at FX60 speeds and I find if its SuperPi 32m stable it?s good enough for me to run 24/7. I'm just a bit baffled at the big discrepancies in volts needed for both SuperPi and Prime to be stable.

You're not percieving this from the correct standpoint.

You can use 1.39v for SLIGHT stability... you need 1.51v for COMPLETE stability.

There is no discrepancy--one is stable, one isn't. End of story.

stability is in the eye of the user

if it does everything that you want without bsod's or lock ups then I suppose it is stable to you

I'd highly recommend dual prime for a minimum of 12 hours for long-term stability, but you're right, it's in the eye of the user.

check your ram timing..the opty are very finicky with them in some cases and you may not need so much more core for Prime95 stablity

Thanks for the replys. I'm running at 2.6Ghz @ 1.39v 24/7 no bsod, lockups, crashes, gaming and folding no problems. Just seems pointless to run 2.6Ghz @ 1.51v 24/7 for COMPLETE stability when all it achieves apart from being Prime stable is to increase temps.
