Good deal for this burner, lots of good reviews.

Haven't picked one up yet, but would like some feedback before pulling the trigger.

I have a 4x dd201 and have never burned a bad disk, it has acted kind of flakey afew times, but they do come up with new firmware for it. It is a little slow starting up. Over all I have been happy with it and I paid over a 100$ last year for it.

I own this drive, picked it up for 80 dollars 3 months ago. Great DVD/CD burner, works well with dvdshrink. It occasionally gets lazy with some CDs that I leave in it for long periods of time (Doom3); it will stop recognizing the CD unless I remove it and reinsert it. but it is not a serious problem. Not a single coaster. It's worst criticisms are that it can have lots of errors during writing. However, I've never noticed any that affect video or audio playback. I'd make this one a backup for a primary burner with dual layer capabilities, since this one doesn't support them.
