I'll be working from home soon and am thinking about ways to best set up my home office. It'd be nice to make use of the same desk, dual monitors, and keyboard/mouse set that I use for my personal desktop with my work laptop, but it seems KVM switches haven't kept up with the times too well, and anything that supports two DVI displays seems very expensive. The other option is using my PC to remote desktop to my work laptop, but that involves unnecessarily wasting electricity on the home PC being on all day. Of course I could also set up an entire other desk with peripherals, but that's also a lot of waste. I'd like to hear how others have set up their home offices to best make use of the equipment they already own and easily switch between home and work spaces. Thanks.

I have a 16port switch that sits on a table next to my desk that I connect all my pc's to. I have a 27" monitor that sits on the left side of my desk and a smaller 15" on the right side that I connect to my work laptop, then the work laptop sits in the center. So effectively I have 3 screens. I use my PC for a lot of googling and research and a bit here and there because it is roughly 10,000 times faster than my super slow laptop, so if you don't plan on using your home pc this setup may not work for you.
