options for cooling

I am interested in improving my cooling set-up. at present i am only using the retail HSF on my A64 3000+ but i can run at 2.55Ghz (1:1) at 1.5v. What cooling should I choose for air cooling and if not air cooling what other options do i have (water, peltier etc...). I don't want to burn a big hole in my pocket but i want something that is worth my money. Current temps are quite high ( 40 - 50 idle, 65 at full load). Many thanks!!!

I doubt you'd need to go to water cooling or anything. Just get some Arctic Silver 5 from newegg and maybe add a fan or two to your system. Just search on Newegg.com for fans and the AS5 and you'll find what you need.

The temps aren't too bad. I have run a P4 at 90C before overnight running Prime95 - no errors so I wouldn't worry.

I would leave it as is at the moment, to get much more out of the chip would require spending quite significant sums of money.

Also there is little reason to use Artic Silver, the thermal pads that come with retail HSF are really rather good.

Just bask in the knowledge that you have a great system.
