I did a malwarbytes scan and it found a registry infection that attempted to disable task manager, I removed this item and restarted so now I'm able to get the task manager to work but it appears what ever has infected me also has removed the restart option from my start menu. Anyone else run across this one?

Interesting. What happens if you do a System Restore to before the infection?

Didn't try that, malwarebytes didn't take care of it, but spybot was able to clean it. Appears that I'm clean for now.

wow that is pretty crazy.

i'd do a full scan after updates in safe mode with malwarebytes and your antivirus in case something was left behind.

Well I got my restart option back in the start menu after cleaning things up but I was missing two options when I hit ctrl + alt + del, I believe it was lock this computer and switch users. From what I could understand the registry was changed so I couldn't restart from windows and I couldn't bring up task manager. Spybot fixed the restart issue but the two options were still missing from the ctrl alt del menu so I just rolled back to an image from a month ago that didn't have the issue. Not sure where I picked this bug up but it sure was a strange one.
