Has anyone tried the chocolate flavor of optimum nutrition whey? I like the vanilla ice cream, is the chocolate on about the same level, or is it nasty? Comments?

I prefer the chcoloate over anything else. It mixes well with peanut butter or bananas in the blender, too. I do like it (for a protein powder), and you can't beat the price.

I like the chocolate flavor, haven't tried vanilla. Stirring with a spoon for 30 seconds in milk does the job. 50 bucks for 10 lbs, haven't found anything better.

I tried the vanilla ice cream Optimum Protein and the double rich chocolate flavor. Chocolate is way better. IMO, the vanilla flavor is too sweet.

I use a diff protein powder

and I like chocolate as well... anything else gets really disgusting :(

Chocolate mixes well with some Ice Cubes + a bit of water for a nice shake.

Protein Frappashake anyone ?

It's good stuff. Every time anybody metions optimum nutrition I am sure to pipe in, as I'm doing now, not to try the strawberry flavor. It's terrible beyond description. Trust me.

If you overload on protein
would that get converted into fat as well ? ?

I'm taking Promax 50gram protein per intake with 3grams fat and 2 grams carbs.

Is too much protein bad for you or would it just get discarded ?

Chocolate is by far the best of the Optimum flavors (choc, strawberry, vanilla) I've tried.

I would describe vanilla that way :D

I actually found strawberry tolerable at first, but yeah, after 5 lbs of it, I was not too fond of it anymore. Anyone ever try pina colada?

Yes.

You can synthesize a finite amount of protein. Beyond that, excess calories get stored as fat.

I use Great Earth's line of products for my protien. I found their strawberry works the best for me... after that the Vanilla is it. I can't stand that protien choco taste. It is a decent protien (i knwo someone here is gonna say there is grams of protien in the shakes, and yes, it is true there is less protien in the serving, but the serving size is less too. SO in the end, the amounts are the same per wieght.

Oh as for the protien getting converted into fat, yes, ecess calories will convert to fat, but if you eat high protein foods, they are generally low in calories... Your average whey protien shake has about 100 or so calories, which is less then a can of soda, and your single servnig of tenderloin steak has only 175 calories to it. What throws it off is a single serving is supposed to be about 3-4 oz and the average person eats nearly a pound at a time.

I'm looking at getting some of this; where do you guys buy yours from? I just finished off my MetRx (which was decent), and now am on some crappy soy protein. :(

Yeah, I just drank one shake, and it was terrible. It's going in the garbage.

Entity - check otu Drugstore.com or Planetdepot. GNC isn't bad if you can get in on a Gold card sale - my throat is rather tempermental (ie, I gag easy) so I can only down either Designer or NitroTech. (Tried Optimum, GNC's horrid horrid brand, MetRx)

Yep, it's good. Just DON'T get the strawberry flavor, that tastes like crap. I had some Designer Whey strawberry, and liked it, so decided to go for the cheap stuff.... boy was i wrong.

It's cheap for a reason :) Ever had the GNC brand? The chocolate flavor LITERALLY tastes like mud....I nearly threw up taking one sip of it
